A Comic Book Re-Cap -- Episode 1

From the Episode...

Hello, you are listening to the first episode of “A Comic Book Re-Cap,” a new podcast about the Comic Book Medium, as it continues to proliferate and be recognized as an Art Form.  This podcast has been years in the making, even though it should honestly be easy for me to do.  Comic Books and Comic Book Creators are finally getting the appreciation they deserve as great artists of the modern times.  And this podcast, as far as I’m concerned, should reflect that and encourage that.  We should be happy that more and more people want to read comics or possibly make their own. 

Recently, a friend of mine who happens to be a film director, told me that he wants to make a comic book.  And all I could say was, “Please consider me as a resource.  I can help you.  I know stuff.  I know some stuff that you may not know, that you might need to know, I’m serious, I can save you a considerable amount of time.”  And I haven’t heard from him since then, which by the way is a shame. 

A Comic Book Re-Cap is currently free by the way, I guess you’re pretty used to that by now.  Just used to the land of the free and home of the people who give away everything for free. 

Just want to do a quick shout-out to the Deadpool Creator himself – Rob Liefeld.  Creator of Deadpool, and in the spirit of Deadpool -- a bunch of other shit – including his own comic book podcast “Robservations with Rob Liefeld” – people – how lucky are we.  Rob Liefeld, the Creator of Deadpool, has a comic book podcast, and there is still room for my comic book podcast, that’s where comic books are at right now.  There can be two comic book podcasts, maybe three, maybe five tops.  But seriously, I gotta find a way to sit down and listen to these Rob Liefeld comic book podcasts because I am sure there is some gold on wax in those recordings. 

In the next episode there will be some chatter about Deadpool and Wolverine, but since this is the first episode, I have to focus on other stuff.  Let’s talk about why I’m here – Comixology Originals.  No, sorry, I read that wrong on the card – let’s talk about why I’m – no – Let’s talk about how I’m here, which is Comixology Originals.  This groundbreaking company, which was bought by Amazon in 2014, is sending me review copies of their new material, -- gratefully accepted-- which features comic book stories by some of the best Writers and Artists in the comic book business, publishing directly to the digital space, through digital storefronts.
